That's the trouble with wild rabbits, they don't arrive ready for cooking you have to skin them, gut them and cut them into pieces ready for cooking. All of this takes longer than going to the supermarket, but then again, English Su...

Where I live it is the imigrants who do most of the hard work - most English people don't seem to like working on the land - and they live in rented accomodation and they pay the rent and pay taxes. In fact if it wasn't for the imigrant workers I think there would be a food shortage in the UK. Also, the health service could not do without imigrant workers.
I do think your "silver lining" is coming though. A lot of imigrants will leave when the present coalition government created the depression that the bankers led us towards - and then we will really be in the sh*t

Try rhubarb fool - no that is not an insult- 450g rhubarb, trimmed and cut into medium chunks
About 150g sugar 3 tbsp Cointreau (or cheap brandy or baileys - optional) 284ml carton double cream
Put the rhubarb in a with 4 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp water. Cook gently for 10 minutes til tender. Add about 85g sugar, or to taste. Leave until cold.
Add the alcohol to the cream. Whisk to soft peaks. Strain the juice from the rhubarb into the cream. Fold in. If it seems too liquid, whisk a little more to thicken. Fold in the rhubarb (reserve a few pieces for decoration). Spoon into glasses and serve with almond biscuits.
It is excellent

I have never understood the subtle flavour of cucumber - they ruin the taste of bread and butter and the taste recurs for hours after.
